As a Senior Software Engineer – Web/Node on Walmart’s Profile and Wallet team, you will design, build, and scale customer-facing mobile experiences by developing high-quality Web/GraphQL applications used daily by millions of users. Your responsibilities include leading early technical discovery for medium-to-large initiatives, integrating GraphQL APIs with backend systems, and ensuring production readiness through debugging and stability improvements. You will work with NodeJS, TypeScript, ReactJS, and Next.js to build adaptive, accessible interfaces while collaborating closely with product and design partners. The role requires strong experience in building production-grade Web/GraphQL applications, REST API architecture patterns, and frontend performance optimization, as well as familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools.
Design and develop high-quality Web/GraphQL applications for Profile and Wallet customer journeys.
Lead early technical discovery and shape the GraphQL layer of foundational platforms.
Drive collaboration with backend engineers to evolve API contracts serving mobile needs.
Build features using NodeJS, TypeScript, ReactJS, and modern architecture patterns.
Ensure performance, security, reliability, and accessibility through testing and monitoring.
Own production readiness by debugging, analyzing root causes, and improving stability.
What we're looking for
Strong experience building and shipping production-grade Web/GraphQL applications using NodeJS, ReactJS, TypeScript.
Hands-on expertise in integrating mobile apps with GraphQL APIs, handling data and error scenarios effectively.
Solid understanding of REST API architecture patterns, performance optimization, and application lifecycle management.
Proficient in modern frontend technologies including Redux, React Query, Next.js, and building adaptive, accessible interfaces.
Experience collaborating closely with backend teams on API design and integration strategies for large-scale applications.
Strong debugging skills to navigate complex, cross-layer issues in production environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability tools, and guiding application-design decisions.
