Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division seeks a Senior Product Architect to lead the architecture and evolution of CA 7 Workload Automation's distributed components, including REST APIs, OpenTelemetry observability services, web UIs, and agent ecosystems. This role involves defining architectural standards, designing scalable microservices, and ensuring real-time event streaming for enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in distributed systems, API design, and modern engineering practices, with proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, React, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. They will collaborate across global teams to ensure consistency and alignment while mentoring engineers and driving technical leadership. This position focuses on transforming CA 7 into a hybrid workload automation platform that bridges mainframe and distributed ecosystems, supporting DevOps, SRE, and AIOps use cases.
Defines and drives the architecture of CA 7 distributed components including APIs, observability services, agents, and UI platforms.
Designs scalable REST API services and microservices-based components for high-quality solutions.
Leads architecture for OpenTelemetry-based observability pipelines to enable real-time event streaming.
Guides development teams in building testable, maintainable code aligned with modern engineering practices.
Participates in design and code reviews for complex and critical distributed system components.
What we're looking for
15+ years of experience in software development or related field
Strong hands-on expertise with Java, Spring Framework, REST APIs, and microservices
Experience in observability frameworks like OpenTelemetry and event-driven architectures
Proficiency in JavaScript and modern UI frameworks such as React
Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and container technologies
Expertise in API design, versioning, and integration patterns for distributed systems
