Position Summary:

The Senior Platforms Engineer, Audio/Video Service provides hands-on, advanced technical support for the Corporate Office auditorium and conference rooms. The role will have direct interface with executives and their administrative teams across the enterprise and requires prior experience supporting senior leaders. The successful candidate will understand the working style and priorities of senior level administrative assistants and have the ability maintain a flexible schedule that aligns to availability and location to meet their needs.

The successful candidate delivers exceptional, high-touch customer service to executives and their administrative teams. Key responsibilities include driving enterprise change initiatives, coordinating closely with Corporate Communications, Facilities, and End User Computing, and building trusted relationships to ensure reliable, best-in-class audio/video operations and service.

This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifies performance bottlenecks, conducts root cause analysis, proposes and implements solutions to enhance platform & system performance and resource utilization. Establishes performance benchmarks, conducts capacity planning, and collaborates with other teams, including junior engineers and cross functional teams to optimize infrastructure performance and activities. End to End ownership of Audio/Video services, including executive, VIPs, and end-user related incidents through escalation to external vendors or other internal resources.
  • Create and execute plans to establish Audio/Video executive presence and professional relationships, including collaboration with the executive administrative assistant, while delivering support for Leadership Townhalls at varying locations which may involve travel to off-site locations requiring advanced on-site surveys.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of troubleshooting procedures, measures to minimize platform & system downtime, and documentation. Partners with vendor technical support to drive for resolution. Leads and manages platform & system technical support activities and troubleshooting efforts, including handling escalated and complex issues. Performs advanced system tuning and optimization to maximize performance using IT Service Management practices. Collaborates with internal teams to enhance support processes and methodologies.
  • Leads the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive knowledge base for platforms & systems, including troubleshooting guides, configuration documentation, and best practices. Promotes knowledge sharing culture by organizing training sessions, mentoring junior engineers, and encouraging cross-team collaboration.
  • Participates in future platform & system backup planning. Leads the design of disaster/system recovery and testing.
  • Analyzes performance and utilization data to identify trends and patterns; provides recommendations for optimization and improvement; prepares comprehensive reports on infrastructure performance; and implements corrective actions to drive continuous system improvements. Establish and maintain weekly and monthly reporting requirements to update leadership.
  • Ensures ongoing compliance with original design and configuration, proactively identifying and correcting deviations from standards.
  • Serves as a consulting member during deployments to help ensure highly available, scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Leads the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive knowledge base for platforms & systems, including troubleshooting guides, configuration documentation, and best practices. Promotes knowledge sharing culture by organizing training sessions, mentoring junior engineers, and encouraging cross-team collaboration.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, related field (ex. Audio/Visual Technology or Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant experience required; experience supporting enterprise audio/visual environments, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues with minimal user disruption highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and operate live event production environments, including multi-camera setups and live switching, Streaming platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams Live / Town Hall), Video production systems such as Tri caster, Advanced audio engineering and mixing highly preferred.
  • Experience managing and supporting large meeting spaces or auditoriums, including sound booths and integrated AV systems highly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with AV control systems, particularly Crestron, including programming, user interface development, and system maintenance highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with enterprise networking concepts (e.g., switch configuration, VLANs, firewall coordination) as they relate to AV infrastructure preferred.
  • Experience with digital signage platforms (e.g., SCALA), including player management, content deployment, and end-user training preferred.

  • General Programming - Applies a computer language to communicate with computers using a set of instructions and to automate the execution of tasks.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - The process of managing and provisioning infrastructure through code instead of through manual processes.
  • IT Infrastructure Management - Planning, design, delivery and control of information technology infrastructure.
  • Performance Monitoring - The process of measuring the performance of a system in real time in order to determine problems and identify other factors that may cause problems in the future.
  • Policy Management - The process of creating, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures within an organization.
  • Process Automation - Also known as business automation or digital transformation, this is the technology-enabled automation of complex business processes. It can streamline a business for simplicity, achieve digital transformation, increase service quality, improve service delivery or contain costs. It consists of integrating applications, restructuring labor resources and using software applications throughout the organization.
  • Service Delivery Management - The manner in which an organization provides users access to IT services, which include applications, data storage and other business resources.
  • Systems Administration - Performs a variety of functions including user management, system monitoring, system configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and access control.
  • System Platform- A system platform refers to the underlying foundation or framework that supports and manages the operation of software applications and hardware components within a computing environment. It provides a standardized and cohesive infrastructure, allowing for the development, deployment, and integration of various technologies and services.
  • Systems Testing - The process of testing conducted on a complete integrated system to evaluate the system's compliance with its specified requirements.
  • Systems Integration - The process of linking together various IT systems, services and/or software to enable all of them to work functionally together.
  • Troubleshooting - The act or process of discovering and resolving problems, disputes, or mechanical issues through a systematic, usually iterative, approach.
