As a Senior Linux Platform Engineer on our Systems Platform Engineering team, you will manage and enhance our automated Linux-based systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. Your daily tasks include designing and maintaining Kubernetes clusters, developing system-level software, automating workflows with Python and Bash, and building RPM packages. You’ll collaborate closely with SREs, developers, and security teams to integrate secure CI/CD pipelines and resolve complex issues involving the OS, network, or container runtime. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in Linux systems administration, Kubernetes management, cloud platforms, and configuration tools like SaltStack, along with a solid understanding of observability tools and core infrastructure protocols. Experience in highly regulated environments is a plus.

What you'll do

Manage and enhance Linux-based infrastructure for performance, reliability, and scalability.
Design, deploy, and maintain on-premises Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads.
Develop and maintain system-level software, middleware, and APIs to support platforms.
Automate system workflows using Python, Bash, and configuration management tools like SaltStack.
Build and maintain RPM packages and internal software repositories for consistent updates.
Diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues involving the OS, network, or container runtime.
Implement hardened security configurations and secure communications for critical systems.

What we're looking for

5+ years of Linux systems administration and infrastructure engineering experience
Experience managing Kubernetes clusters on-premises or bare-metal environments
Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash for automation
In-depth knowledge of Linux internals and performance diagnostics
Hands-on experience with SaltStack, Puppet, or Ansible for configuration management
Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Loki
Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools
