What you'll do
- Advise HR and Recruiting teams on privacy requirements for employee and candidate data.
- Review and negotiate vendor contracts and DPAs with HR technology vendors and third-party processors.
- Counsel on cross-border data transfers and compliance under GDPR, PIPL, and other frameworks.
- Provide guidance on privacy considerations related to AI-assisted recruiting tools and automated decision-making.
- Support employee-facing privacy notices and manage data subject rights requests from employees and candidates.
- Track legal developments in employment privacy and translate them into practical guidance for the organization.
What we're looking for
- J.D. degree with strong academic performance and a California law license.
- At least 5 years of privacy law experience in employment or recruiting data issues.
- Expertise in GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, BIIPA, and other international laws for employee data.
- Experience advising HR teams on privacy compliance in global tech companies.
- Ability to review and negotiate vendor contracts and DPAs related to workforce data.
- Familiarity with AI-driven recruiting tools and legal aspects of automated decision-making.
