As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Invenergy, you will join the Thermal Generation team to support cutting-edge projects involving natural gas combustion turbines and combined cycle power plants. Your daily responsibilities include developing detailed electrical design packages, validating energy calculations, conducting thorough design reviews, and coordinating with various stakeholders such as equipment suppliers and construction contractors. You will leverage your expertise in high voltage and medium voltage systems, switchyards, and transmission lines to ensure compliance with industry standards and codes. Essential skills include proficiency in ETAP or similar electrical modeling software, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously. What you'll do
Assist in developing project-specific electrical engineering specifications and equipment requirements.
Conduct detailed reviews of electrical drawings for balance of plant, switchyard, and transmission line components.
Define and review results of all required electrical system studies to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Track design schedules and update stakeholders on critical dates related to electrical engineering tasks.
Coordinate with suppliers, construction contractors, and the engineer of record during procurement and construction phases.
Review competitive bids for owner-procured electrical materials and manage supplier relationships throughout project execution.
Perform factory inspections and witness acceptance testing for major electrical equipment.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems.
3+ years of relevant work experience, including internships.
Knowledge of power systems and HV/MV electrical infrastructure.
Experience with electrical industry standards and codes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, and electrical modeling software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with various teams.
