Role Details
As a Software Developer in Places Technology Services, you will provide your technical expertise through hands-on development to ensure that the applications we build are set up for long-term success. Our Software Developers work with a cross-functional team of Program Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and other developers to holistically understand the needs of our business partners and empower them to be successful. You will need to be able to assess business requirements, estimate delivery times, and convert requirements into a technical development plan for applications that are in every stage of the application lifecycle. On a regular basis you will meet with your cross-functional team to track project progress - you will need to be able to communicate updates clearly to team members that are both technical and non-technical. You will need to identify risk and solve for issues as they arise to keep your projects on track. Develop and maintain full-stack web applications using modern technologies. Build and integrate RESTful APIs using Node.js and TypeScript. Create responsive, accessible user interfaces using frontend frameworks. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to implement new features. Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code. Participate in code reviews and contribute to team discussions on best practices. Debug and resolve technical issues across the stack. -Bachelors degree in Computer science or related or equivalent years of experience. 3-5 years of experience building full-stack web applications. Solid proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript. Experience working with Node.js for backend development. Familiarity with at least one modern frontend framework (React, Vue, or Svelte). Basic understanding of relational database concepts and SQL. Experience with containerization tools such as Docker. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines. Understanding of web accessibility principles and semantic HTML. Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, or similar). Familiarity with version control workflows using Git.
