What you will do

We are seeking a Technical Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join the Data Management team supporting the Fixed Income data platform. This role is heavily focused on building data products and supporting ongoing business initiatives, with end‑to‑end ownership of data onboarding, issue resolution, and continuous improvement within an Agile delivery model. You will be accountable for the product's success from vision to execution, collaborating closely with empowered, cross-functional product teams and business stakeholders to implement solutions that align with business outcomes.

This position is performed in a hybrid manner with a mix of work performed from our office in Newark, NJ and remotely.

The ideal candidate will be hands‑on, proactive, and accountable, with strong Fixed Income domain expertise in public and private credit, strong SQL skills, and the ability to decompose business logic, read code, and work directly with stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure reliable, high‑quality data product delivery.

We want you to see this challenge as a unique and valuable opportunity, so if this sounds interesting, then PGIM could be the place for you.

What you can expect

  • Own end‑to‑end delivery and support of Fixed Income data products and initiatives working as part of a delivery team, collaborating with stakeholders, developers, QA to understand requirements, analyses and refine stories, design solutions, implement them, test them, and support them in production
  • Act as a SME for driving root cause analysis and remediation for production incidents
  • Translate Fixed Income business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements, including data mappings, transformations, and validation rules
  • Work closely with data engineers to analyze existing data logic, read SQL/code, and validate that implementations align with business intent
  • Proactively monitor data quality, identify issues, and take accountability for resolution, not just escalation
  • Support Agile delivery by contributing to backlog refinement, sprint planning, story breakdown, and acceptance criteria
  • Partner with Front Office, Risk, Operations, and downstream consumers to elicit requirements and resolve data questions
  • Ensure data solutions meet production‑grade standards for stability, accuracy, traceability, and auditability
  • Continuously improve BAU processes, documentation, and controls to reduce recurring issues and operational risk

What you will bring

  • 8+ years of experience working in a technology role preferably in software engineering, BSA/QA and/or application support
  • Strong experience working with Public and Private Fixed Income data, including instruments such as bonds, repos, futures, swaps, and derivatives, CMLs, RMLs
  • Solid understanding of data domains trades, positions, accounting/performance, reference data (e.g., CUSIP/ISIN/SEDOL, issuer/hierarchy, calendars etc.), pricing and analytics data (evaluated prices, yields/spreads, curves, OAS/duration/convexity)
  • Working knowledge of data governance concepts: data lineage, metadata, data dictionaries, stewardship, and audit-ready documentation/controls
  • Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write and review complex queries, perform data analysis and validation independently and debug production data issues
  • Ability to read and reason existing code such as Java/Python to extract and decompose business logic
  • Strong understanding of data concepts such as source‑to‑target mappings, data transformations and enrichment, historical vs as‑of data, data quality and reconciliation controls
  • Experience with data ingestion and integration patterns (batch/stream), file formats (CSV/JSON/Parquet), and/or scheduling/orchestration tools
  • Proven experience working in a strong Agile delivery environment; comfortable breaking down requirements into epics, user stories, and clear acceptance criteria

What will set you apart?

  • Experience with investment platforms such as Aladdin, Charles River, or similar is a plus
  • Highly proactive and self‑directed, with a “see it through” mentality; willing to challenge assumptions and propose better data and process solutions
  • Takes personal ownership of deliverables and follows them end‑to‑end until resolution
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, production‑critical environment
  • Clear communicator who can explain complex data concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Ability to confidently engage with Portfolio Managers, Risk, Operations, and Technology without translation layers
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability for business outcome
