TL;DR · Ontology Knowledge Engineer

Join Chase's Data and Analytics Office as an Ontology and Knowledge Graph Engineer, a senior role within the Predictive Science team. You will curate semantic data assets to connect enterprise data to a shared knowledge graph, authoring logical data model ontologies and designing mapping assets that integrate diverse data sources like relational databases and REST APIs into a coherent structure. Your responsibilities include maintaining semantic taxonomy structures, enabling virtual knowledge graph capabilities, and engaging with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between ontology design and business requirements. Essential skills include expertise in formal knowledge representation, data mapping concepts, and experience working with semantic web technologies and linked data systems. This role offers the chance to contribute to enterprise AI and analytics at a leading financial institution, addressing complex challenges through precise and scalable solutions.

What you'll do

  • Author logical data model ontologies to represent enterprise data across the organization.
  • Design and maintain knowledge graph mapping assets for various data sources.
  • Curate semantic taxonomy structures using controlled vocabularies for consistent concept representation.
  • Contribute to the governance of upper ontologies and semantic taxonomies for standardized use cases.
  • Enable virtual knowledge graph capabilities by supporting on-the-fly materialization without physical data movement.
  • Translate complex business requirements into formal semantic representations accessible to non-technical stakeholders.

What we're looking for

  • At least 1 year of professional experience in semantic web technologies or knowledge graph engineering.
  • Strong understanding of formal knowledge representation principles and ontology development.
  • Experience authoring ontologies and mapping assets for enterprise data integration.
  • Familiarity with virtual knowledge graphs and real-time data streaming platforms.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into formal semantic models.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and maintaining upper ontologies and semantic taxonomies.
  • Participation in ontology governance activities, including version control and cross-domain alignment.
