TL;DR · Modeling and Simulation Engineer

As a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Engineer on the Physical AI team at our research and development facility, you will design and develop advanced tools for national defense missions. Your daily tasks include creating agent-based and physics-based models, optimizing AI and ML algorithms with reinforcement learning techniques, and working with EO-IR and 3D modeling software. You will use object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or MATLAB to implement these solutions, and may also engage in large-scale computational simulations within high-performance computing environments. The role requires strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with government clients and work independently on complex projects. Experience in image processing, computer vision, parallel programming frameworks like MPI and CUDA, and autonomous system development is a plus.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement advanced models to evaluate system performance.
  • Develop tools using agent-based modeling and physics-based techniques.
  • Optimize AI and ML algorithms for strategic decision-making support.
  • Work with EO-IR and 3D modeling and simulation software independently.
  • Communicate effectively with government clients on complex projects.
  • Collaborate in the design of large-scale computational simulations.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in modeling and quantitative analysis including agent-based and physics-based modeling.
  • 5+ years working with object-oriented programming languages like Python, Java, C++, C#, R, or MATLAB.
  • 2+ years of experience with EO-IR and 3D modeling and simulation software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build collaborative relationships with government clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field required; Master's preferred, Doctorate a plus.
  • Experience optimizing large-scale computational simulations in high-performance computing environments.
