Position Summary
Designs, develops, and enhances Clinical Utilization Management (UM) decision automation applications and platforms to meet business objectives and improve end‑user experience. Collaborates with Clinical UM stakeholders and cross‑functional technology teams to assess business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable, rules‑based application solutions. Drives solution quality through clear requirements definition, acceptance criteria, and partnership in testing and release activities. Supports the full application lifecycle by analyzing production behavior, performing root cause analysis, and coordinating fixes and enhancements to ensure stability, compliance, and continuous improvement of Clinical UM automation solutions. Implements development best practices to improve efficiency, reliability, and maintainability of the UM automation platform.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of experience designing, developing, enhancing, or supporting enterprise application solutions with accountability across the application development lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to assess business and technical requirements and translate them into application features, user stories, and functional specifications.
- Experience delivering high‑quality solutions through partnership in testing, release planning, and deployment activities.
- Proven ability to analyze application behavior in production, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective and preventative solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders, engineers, and quality assurance teams.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments and applying development best practices to improve efficiency, quality, and delivery outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing or enhancing rules‑based or decision automation solutions (e.g., IBM ODM or similar decision or rules engines).
- Experience supporting Clinical UM, eligibility/entitlement, or healthcare decisioning and automation platforms.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and incident management tools (e.g., Splunk, ServiceNow) to support application health and stability.
- Experience using Agile delivery and backlog management tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, and/or Rally.
- Exposure to SQL or data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) to support investigation, validation, and post‑release auditing.
- Experience applying industry best practices to continuously improve application quality, reliability, and user experience.
Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$101,970.00 - $203,940.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
