Lead Director - Mainframe Systems Engineering

What you'll do

• Define and execute long-term engineering strategy for IBM zSystems platform modernization.
• Build and retain high-performing team of mainframe engineers and specialists.
• Ensure enterprise platform reliability, operational resilience, and system availability.
• Lead security-by-design principles and compliance across all mainframe platforms.
• Champion integration initiatives connecting mainframe systems with cloud platforms.
• Manage strategic vendor relationships and technology budgets for mainframe solutions.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to support broader enterprise modernization goals.

What we're looking for

• 10+ years of enterprise platform engineering experience with IBM zSystems or comparable mission-critical environments
• 6+ years of progressive leadership managing engineering teams through transformation in complex enterprise settings
• At least 5+ years of technical literacy across z/OS architecture, mainframe operations, and security frameworks
• Proven track record delivering large-scale platform modernization programs with measurable business impact
• Executive-level communication skills to navigate stakeholder priorities and build alignment between technology and business leadership
• Experience owning significant technology budgets and managing strategic vendor relationships
