The Integration and Test Architect role within the R&D organization requires an experienced lead engineer with a minimum of 12 years in electromechanical R&D, ideally in medical devices. This senior position involves architecting complex electro-mechanical system integration and test processes from requirement establishment to traceability matrices, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Systems engineering, Mechanical engineering, Controls, Software Teams, Reliability, Supply Chain & Manufacturing, and others. Key responsibilities include designing comprehensive test approaches, deriving diagnostic strategies, authoring relevant documentation, and supporting project management and mentorship. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills in MATLAB/Simulink (LabVIEW proficiency a plus), CAD software like SolidWorks, DOE, FMEA, statistical analysis, and regulatory standards knowledge such as FDA 21CFR 820, ISO 13485, IEC 60601, and ISO 14971.
Leads the design of system integration and test approach across all levels.
Derives strategies for detecting issues at appropriate assembly levels.
Works with cross-functional teams to establish optimal requirements.
Authors documents such as test protocols and integration plans.
Supports development of traceability matrices for all requirement levels.
Manages and delivers projects within agreed timelines collaboratively.
Mentors less experienced engineers in system integration and testing.
What we're looking for
Minimum 12 years of electromechanical R&D engineering experience in medical devices or similar regulated industries.
Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Robotics, or related field required; exceptional undergraduates may be considered.
Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects and launch complex electro-mechanical systems.
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink is essential; LabVIEW proficiency is desired.
Strong technical skills including DOE, FMEA, statistical analysis, and design control procedures.
Excellent documentation and communication skills for clear project management and stakeholder interaction.
Working knowledge of medical device regulatory standards such as FDA 21CFR 820, ISO 13485, IEC 60601, ISO 14971.
