Role Details
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Front Developer React UI with a specialization in React development and a keen interest in leveraging AI for building next-generation user interfaces. This role is within our Credit Risk Technology Team, responsible for delivering robust, high-performance, and large-scale applications crucial for Counterparty Credit Risk Management at Citi.
You will play a pivotal role in developing intuitive, efficient, and AI-powered frontend solutions that empower salespeople, traders, operations staff, and risk officers. Your contributions will directly impact critical systems providing integrated views of trades, collateral, and market data, enabling limit monitoring, exception management, stress testing analysis, and escalation workflows. We are looking for individuals who are not only expert React developers but also innovative thinkers eager to integrate AI tools into the UI development lifecycle, pushing the boundaries of user experience in financial technology.
Key Responsibilities:

Hands-On React & Frontend Development:

Design, develop, and implement complex and highly performant user interfaces using React.js, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
- Build reusable components and libraries for future use, ensuring maintainability and scalability across various applications.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability, particularly for data-intensive financial dashboards and risk analytics tools.

AI-Powered UI Development:

Explore, experiment with, and integrate AI tools and techniques (e.g., Generative UI, intelligent component suggestion, predictive layouts, personalized experiences) into the UI development process.
- Collaborate with AI/ML specialists to bring intelligent features and automations to the user interface, enhancing user efficiency and insight.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI for UI/UX and propose innovative solutions.

Technical Design & Architecture:

Contribute to the architectural design of frontend systems, ensuring adherence to best practices, performance standards, and security requirements for financial applications.
- Translate complex business requirements from risk officers, traders, and other stakeholders into technical specifications and elegant UI solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, performance, and adherence to coding standards.

Collaboration & Mentorship:

Work closely with product managers, UX designers, backend developers, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated and seamless user experiences.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on React best practices and AI integration.

Quality Assurance & DevOps:

Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the robustness and reliability of frontend applications.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment of frontend applications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in frontend software development.
- 3+ years of expert-level experience with React.js and its ecosystem (e.g., Redux, Context API, Hooks).
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, and modern CSS (e.g., Styled Components, Sass, CSS-in-JS).

Demonstrable experience or strong practical understanding of applying AI/ML techniques or tools to UI development, such as:

Generative AI for UI component creation or layout suggestion.
- Machine learning for user behavior prediction and interface personalization.
- AI-assisted design tools or intelligent automation in the UI development workflow.
- Experience building robust, high-performance, and large-scale web applications, ideally with complex data visualization and interaction.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the financial services industry, particularly within credit risk, trading, or related domains.
- Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and accessibility standards.
- Experience with micro-frontend architectures.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects showcasing AI-powered UI.
