Finance Solution Architect
A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love.
The Opportunity:
This role is responsible for designing and governing end-to-end finance solution architecture across systems and data layers, ensuring that all solutions are scalable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. It translates business requirements into clear, implementable system designs that support finance processes and reporting needs. The role has broad impact across ERP and adjacent systems, including integrations, data flows, and architectural design standards that influence reporting accuracy and operational efficiency. It balances strategic responsibilities, defining architecture principles, standards, and future-state designs, with hands-on execution by supporting solution design for key initiatives. Additionally, it drives innovation by introducing reusable patterns, modular designs, and standardized integration and semantic layer approaches to enable faster, more consistent, and scalable solution delivery across the finance landscape.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Solution Architecture Design: Translate business requirements into end-to-end solution architectures, covering process, system, data, and integration impacts.
- Target-State Definition: Define target-state architecture and guiding principles for finance solutions, ensuring scalability and consistency.
- Architecture Alignment: Partner with IT Architecture to review, validate, and align designs with enterprise standards and frameworks.
- Design Documentation: Develop solution design artifacts, including functional specifications, integration maps, data flow diagrams, and control considerations.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure solutions meet audit, control, and reporting requirements with consistent and traceable logic.
- Cross-System Coordination: Coordinate cross-system dependencies across ERP, reporting platforms, data engineering, and automation tools.
- Testing & Deployment Support: Support testing and deployment activities, including UAT readiness, data reconciliation approaches, and release governance.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present architecture options, trade-offs, and recommendations to program leadership and key stakeholders.
- Strategic Influence: Influence stakeholders by balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term architectural integrity, challenging “quick fix” solutions when necessary.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership through influence by mentoring team members, guiding design decisions, and supporting contractors and implementation partners.
Who You Are:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Certifications: ERP certifications (preferably SAP S/4 finance modules) and architecture certifications such as TOGAF are preferred.
- Experience: 7–10+ years of experience in finance systems or ERP solution design roles.
- Program exposure: Experience contributing to at least one major ERP modernization or finance systems transformation initiative.
- Integration expertise: Proven experience designing solutions with consideration for integrations and upstream/downstream impacts across data, reporting, and automation platforms.
- Documentation & governance: Strong experience producing design documentation and operating within structured design governance processes.
- Finance & systems knowledge: Solid understanding of finance processes (e.g., record-to-report, planning, master data) and systems architecture concepts.
- Core competencies: Ability to apply systems thinking, write clear functional specifications, evaluate trade-offs, and collaborate effectively with IT and business stakeholders while considering internal controls and audit requirements.
