For over a decade, the App Store has been a safe and trusted destination for discovering and downloading apps and it's much more than a storefront. It's an innovative platform home to over 2 million apps across 40+ languages and 175 regions worldwide, each built using Apple's own software development kit and services. At this scale, the store handles billions of requests from more than 500 million visitors every week across iOS, macOS, tvOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and visionOS.
To deliver this experience at scale, Program Managers partner closely with Engineering, Design, and other cross-functional teams to build high-performance systems backed by robust testing and quality standards. As apps have become an essential part of people's daily lives, the App Store has become equally essential to Apple's business.
The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) team exemplifies Apple's enduring passion for combining art and technology. ASE powers some of Apple's most beloved platforms - including the App Store, Apple TV and Sports, Apple Music, Podcasts, Books, and Cloud and Infrastructure Services, delivering a vast and diverse entertainment and services experience to more than 150 countries in 35+ languages, every day, at massive scale.
Program Managers within ASE partner with Engineers to build innovative, end-to-end solutions that reflect Apple's unique integration of hardware, software, and services. Central to this work is a deep commitment to Apple's core values, including privacy, which remains a guiding principle across everything the team builds.

Description

As an Engineering Program Manager for the App Store team, you will influence and lead the delivery of business-critical features built at global scale. Our Program Managers are responsible for shipping new features for the App Store Analytics platform, partnering with cross-geo engineers, product, marketing, design, data science, legal, security, and privacy teams to launch experiences that surprise and delight our users. This is a hands-on role where you will be actively involved in requirements analysis, functional and technical design discussions, testing, proof-of-concept, privacy reviews, and more. This is not a task-based position; you will own the successful end-to-end delivery of complex, customer-facing projects under demanding timelines.
The ideal candidate takes ownership, inspires the team to do their best work, and brings exceptional interpersonal skills, adapting their approach and communication style to keep projects on track and teams aligned as a single unit.
The best Program Managers are inherently curious. They dig deep to understand customer needs, how the underlying technology works, and the critical factors that inform important decisions. That inquisitiveness is a core strength on the App Store team, where we are constantly tackling challenges that have never been solved before, and that is what makes this an extraordinary place to work.
Our App Store Analytics team is nimble, cross-functional, and deeply collaborative, offering broad exposure to a wide range of opportunities within a growing organization. We are a diverse group of problem solvers and builders, continuously reimagining our products, systems, and practices to help people do what they love. A successful candidate will drive initiatives from ideation through launch, translating vision into sustainable, long-term programs and products.
Strong program management fundamentals are essential, as is a genuine passion for solving complex, dynamic problems. If you bring a growth mindset, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are motivated to build products that matter, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent complex, customer-facing features for the App Store Analytics platform, from requirements through launch, under demanding timelines.
  • Partner with cross-geo engineering, product, design, data science, legal, security, and privacy teams to define scope, align on priorities, and drive execution
  • Establish and maintain program roadmaps, milestones, and delivery schedules, proactively identifying risks and driving mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate prioritization and trade-off discussions across stakeholders to align competing demands with business objectives and technical feasibility.
  • Define and implement scalable program processes, frameworks, and metrics to drive operational maturity and continuous improvement across the team.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination across cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication, shared context, and aligned execution at every stage.
  • Drive regulatory and compliance-related initiatives, partnering with legal and privacy teams to ensure features meet Apple's standards and applicable requirements.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, curiosity, and collaboration, inspiring teams to deliver their best work while navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 6+ years of technical program management experience, with a demonstrated track record of leading large, complex programs
  • Strong technical proficiency in software architecture and development.
  • Experience in a technical or analytically focused role (e.g. software engineering, business analyst, or data analyst)
  • Experience working on regulatory and compliance projects
  • Proven ability to define and implement scalable processes, establish meaningful metrics, and drive continuous program maturity and process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in technical program management with hands-on familiarity of GenAI technologies and concepts, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI, prompt engineering, model evaluation, and ML pipelines. Ability to leverage these technologies to streamline program management workflows, improve decision-making, and accelerate delivery. Formal education or certification in GenAI or related fields is a plus, though practical experience and demonstrated application are equally valued.
  • Strong technical foundation with familiarity in big data technologies, modern data engineering concepts, and software architecture. Prior experience in an analytics-focused role is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional collaboration across product, design, engineering, QA, and operations - from kickoff through ship, on externally facing products.
  • Effective at planning, prioritization, and navigating trade-off discussions in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with competing priorities.
  • Strong change management instincts, with the ability to anticipate, plan for, and guide teams through large-scale organizational or program changes.
  • Extraordinary communicator across all levels of the organization, with strong facilitation skills spanning requirements gathering, design reviews, stakeholder alignment, and status reporting.
  • Self-motivated and accountable, with a track record of driving multiple initiatives to completion in parallel with minimal oversight.
  • Willingness to adapt to a demanding, team-oriented, and fast-paced environment with rapidly changing direction and new challenges.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, with the ability to synthesize incomplete or conflicting information into solid, aligned action plans.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to structure complex, ambiguous problems and develop clear, actionable solutions.
