What you'll do
- Lead and mentor a team of security engineers to build and operate foundational security capabilities.
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for core security infrastructure across encryption, authN/authZ, CI/CD, data, and network surfaces.
- Partner with product teams to deliver self-service security infrastructure that scales across varying levels of security maturity.
- Build secure paved roads for agentic identities and workflows in collaboration with Data Foundation and AI teams.
- Drive measurable improvement in secure-by-default adoption within Plaid's engineering organization through influence.
What we're looking for
- 8-14 years of software engineering experience, including at least 6 years in management roles.
- Strong technical background in security domains like auth systems, encryption, and identity services in AWS/K8s environments.
- Experience managing engineers in security, platform, or infrastructure contexts.
- Proven track record building scalable platform capabilities used broadly across product-focused organizations.
- Ability to design secure AI/ML platforms while preserving developer velocity.
- Strong cross-functional relationship-building skills with high-empathy communication abilities.
- Familiarity with fintech or high-tech organizations adjacent to payments or financial services.
