As a seasoned Drone as First Responder (DFR) Solutions Architect within Motorola Solutions’ Cloud Deployment Operations Organization, you will play a pivotal role in assessing customer requirements and designing complex system architectures for the CAPE drone command-and-control software. Your day-to-day responsibilities include conducting detailed needs assessments, defining system architecture, leading sophisticated cloud deployments, and providing expert post-implementation support to ensure seamless operations. You will also integrate CAPE with legacy systems like CAD/RMS, navigate regulatory landscapes, and secure FAA waivers. The ideal candidate has a strong background in drone technology, IP networking, cellular data routing, and public safety systems, along with the ability to travel extensively for deployment and training.
Consult with public safety customers to design tailored Drone as First Responder (DFR) solutions.
Define system architecture, hardware requirements, and integration strategies for DFR programs.
Lead full lifecycle deployment of critical DFR and tactical drone programs.
Design technical integrations between CAPE software platform and agency CAD/RMS systems.
Ensure compliance with FAA regulations by providing technical support for complex waivers.
What we're looking for
Proven experience in solution architecture, systems integration, or technical deployment engineering within the drone industry or public safety sector.
Deep familiarity with IP networking, cellular data routing (LTE/5G), cloud computing, software integrations (APIs), and public safety CAD/RMS systems.
Strong understanding of DFR market trends, competitive ecosystems, and advanced drone docking technologies.
Valid FAA Part 107 Remote Drone Pilot Certification required.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Aviation, or a related technical field.
Ability to travel 50-75% of the time for deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting.
