TL;DR · Senior AWS Architect, Payments Platform

The Senior AWS Platform Architect will lead the architectural transformation of legacy payment systems into a cloud-native ecosystem, focusing on migrating monolithic Java and C# applications to AWS while maintaining strict compliance with PCI DSS and ISO 20022 standards. Responsibilities include executing migration strategies using Amazon API Gateway, AWS Lambda, and Terraform for infrastructure as code, ensuring high-availability across multi-region environments, and implementing security-by-design principles with AWS KMS and PrivateLink. The role also involves leveraging AI tools like Amazon Bedrock and GitHub Copilot to optimize legacy business logic and deploying full-stack monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch and X-Ray for real-time anomaly detection. Required skills include extensive experience in financial services engineering, deep expertise in AWS services, knowledge of payment rails and messaging standards, proficiency in IaC and CI/CD tools, and agile leadership in high-velocity environments.

What you'll do

  • Lead the migration of legacy payment systems to AWS using the "7Rs" strategy, focusing on Refactoring and Replatforming.
  • Implement a strangler fig approach to decompose monolithic payment systems into microservices with zero-downtime transitions.
  • Design high-availability architectures for real-time payment processing across multiple regions to meet strict SLAs.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI DSS by implementing security-by-design using AWS KMS and PrivateLink.
  • Utilize Amazon MSK or SQS/SNS for event-driven processing of high-volume transaction streams in a cloud-native environment.

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services engineering with a focus on cloud migration.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with AWS services including EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, and RDS.
  • Expert knowledge of payment systems (ACH, SWIFT, SEPA) and ISO 20022 messaging standards.
  • Strong understanding of PCI DSS compliance and security practices in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.
