Join GDIT as a Senior COBOL Developer to support the United States Postal Service, where you will play a pivotal role in optimizing business functions through software development and maintenance. Your daily tasks include analyzing user requirements, developing application upgrades, maintaining documentation, and creating technical specifications for developers and testers. You will work with IBM z/OS, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS, CICS, and other mainframe technologies while ensuring best practices for system performance and scalability. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL on IBM Z/OS and a strong understanding of batch processing and online transaction processing. Familiarity with AI-driven code analysis tools is preferred, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
