As a Senior AWS Network Architect on our team, you will be responsible for securing and architecting complex cloud-based network environments to support critical civilian agency operations. Your daily tasks include recommending and implementing tools and capabilities based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various resources to address risk management framework (RMF) requirements. You will leverage advanced skills in AWS, Palo Alto Firewalls, Hybrid Connectivity, WAN, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Zero Trust Architecture while mentoring junior team members. This role requires 5+ years of experience architecting complex AWS network environments, deploying and managing Palo Alto VM-Series firewalls within AWS, and using Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure deployment. You will also work on Hybrid Connectivity, WAN configurations, and implementing Zero Trust principles in multi-account environments, ensuring standards are met with information assurance and security requirements.
- Design and implement secure AWS network environments to support critical operations.
- Recommend and deploy tools and capabilities based on RMF requirements for cloud security.
- Mentor team members in advanced cloud technologies such as IaC, Zero Trust Architecture.
- Configure and troubleshoot hybrid connectivity solutions including Direct Connect and SD-WAN integrations.
- Function independently as the sole Network Architect to discover, document, and execute network designs.
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience architecting and managing complex AWS network environments.
3+ years deploying and managing Palo Alto VM-Series firewalls in AWS, including Global Protect and Panorama.
Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation for repeatable deployment of major networking components.
Knowledge of Hybrid Connectivity and WAN configurations, including Direct Connect and Site-to-Site VPNs.
Expertise in Transit Gateway architecture and VPC Peering in multi-account environments.
Ability to implement Zero Trust principles within AWS or Palo Alto ecosystems.
HS diploma or GED required.
