Job Description
This is a critical, executive‑level engineering delivery role responsible for leading teams that provide design, delivery, and support of strategic AI capabilities across the Product Development Lifecycle including key AI vendor platforms (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to ensure secure, scalable, and effective enterprise adoption.
The successful candidate will have proven hands-on experience and demonstrate strong executive presence, a strategic mindset, and a proven ability to deliver complex, enterprise‑grade software. Beyond their direct organization, this leader will influence AI strategy and engineering productivity decisions across the enterprise, partnering closely with technology, security, risk, and business leaders.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- 10 or more years of relevant software engineering experience
- Six or more years of experience leading multiple software engineering teams
Required Experience & Qualifications
Leadership & Communication:
- 20+ years of enterprise software experience, including:
- Minimum 10 years in banking or similarly regulated environment
- Minimum 10 years leading large‑scale software delivery
- Demonstrated executive communication skills with the ability to:
- Clearly communicate with senior leaders, engineers, and cross‑functional partners
- Translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes
- Proven ability to build strong, trusted relationships across the organization
AI Platforms & Capabilities:
- Hands‑on leadership experience with developer‑focused AI tooling, such as:
- GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude (Claude Code, Cowork), Cursor, Cognition, or similar
- Strong understanding of enterprise AI considerations, including:
- Security, governance, access controls, auditability, and responsible AI practices
- Measuring and scaling AI adoption to improve engineering productivity
Architecture & SDLC Experience:
- Strong architecture and design background with experience in:
- Cloud‑native, API‑driven, and event‑based architectures
- Designing for scalability, resiliency, security, and compliance
- Demonstrated, hands‑on experience across the full SDLC, including:
- CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code, and automated testing
- Secure SDLC practices and vulnerability management
- Direct use of AI tools within the SDLC to improve code quality, cycle time, and developer experience
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $170,255.00 - $200,300.00
