Position Summary:

CVS Health’s Analytics & Behavior Change (A&BC) is an organization working to solve some of the most challenging problems at the intersection of technology and healthcare. A&BC leverages advanced analytics, machine learning, modeling, and a hypothesis-driven approach to transform data into actionable, customer-centric insights to drive growth, improve health outcomes and access to health care across all our businesses in CVS Health. Our data teams build next generation data and machine learning platforms and products in the cloud that help power CVS Health to make healthier happen for 100+ million customers.

As a Product Manager within A&BC you will be responsible for leading the development and launch of analytically powered applications for internal and external users. This role requires a strong understanding of product management, data analytics and structured problem-solving skills to ensure alignment with business strategy. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams to bring data-intensive products to market. Additionally, as a Product Manager you will support the dissemination of best practices (design thinking, agile methodologies and more) to support A&BC in its product transformation.

Description / Fundamental Components:

1) Product and Project Management excellence (70%):

  • Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed product specifications to communicate feature requirements to data science, engineering and stakeholder teams
  • Support engineering and data science teams to implement features by clarifying requirements, facilitating technical discussions, and helping technical team members to understand users and the business
  • Facilitate problem solving and prioritization across teams, factoring in trade-offs between speed, scalability and quality
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to inform product decisions and validate hypotheses
  • Collaborate with designers to create UX flows, wireframes and product designs
  • Define, monitor and analyze product performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization
  • Draft, refine and communicate business cases to key stakeholders to obtain input and buy-in
  • Demonstrate and support dissemination of best practices for product management, product development, release management and user support
  • Champion Agile methodologies and lean practices in product development

2) Data Science excellence (30%)

  • Develops complex algorithms and statistical predictive models and determines analytical approaches and modeling techniques to evaluate scenarios and potential future outcomes
  • Performs analyses of structured and unstructured data to solve multiple and complex business problems
  • Utilizing advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses and specialized expertise in the organization and/or industry
  • Applies analytical rigor and statistical methods to analyze large amounts of data, using advanced statistical techniques
  • Manages large and complex analytical projects from data exploration, model building, performance evaluation and testing
  • Behaves as mentor to junior team members to provide technical advice

You will be working in a hybrid role in our CVS Health office in NYC.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in working cross-functionally with engineering teams with 1+ years of experience in Product Management or Technical Product Management role
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts and implications to business stakeholders and customers as well as business concepts and requirement to Data Science, Engineering, and other technical teams
  • Familiar with user experience design and testing methodologies
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and software
  • 7+ years of relevant analytic experience
  • Experience programming using R or Python
  • Experience in SAS or SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in B2B software products
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Demonstrates proficiency in all areas of mathematical analysis methods, machine learning, statistical analyses, and predictive modeling and advanced in-depth specialization in some areas
  • Deep knowledge of advanced analytics tools and languages to analyze large data sets from multiple data sources

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related quantitative field
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$142,140.00 - $284,280.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
