Job Description

Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Execution Senior Manager to lead strategic execution, governance, and stakeholder engagement across the SWIFT organization, while also supporting cross‑functional initiatives within WISE. This leader will manage a small team of experienced Business Execution Consultants and play a critical role in advancing transformation, operational rigor, and strategic alignment within Wells Fargo’s global payments ecosystem.

This role requires a hands‑on, execution‑oriented leader with deep payments industry expertise, exceptional stakeholder influence skills, and the ability to drive clarity and outcomes in environments defined by complexity, ambiguity, and change. The ideal candidate quickly builds organizational context and credibility, delivering impact from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of mid‑ to senior‑level Business Execution Consultants supporting high‑visibility SWIFT initiatives.
  • Establish strong execution discipline and operating rigor across complex workstreams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, continuous improvement, and talent development aligned with Wells Fargo values.

Strategic Execution & Governance

  • Lead governance routines and operating cadences across SWIFT and cross‑functional WISE stakeholders.
  • Drive planning, business integration, issue resolution, and execution for initiatives with moderate to high complexity, impact, and risk.
  • Define and apply execution frameworks aligned to enterprise standards; identify and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies as needed.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders across Payments, WISE, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and cross‑enterprise partners.
  • Influence outcomes in a highly matrixed environment by aligning priorities, securing resources, and resolving conflicts.
  • Rapidly assess organizational structures, decision pathways, and cultural dynamics to enable effective execution.

Payments Transformation & Problem Solving

  • Leverage deep knowledge of global payments, SWIFT standards, and evolving regulatory and technology landscapes to inform strategy and execution.
  • Lead through ambiguity by proactively identifying challenges, defining solutions, and driving clarity.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic priority roadmap highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommended focus areas for senior leadership.

Operational Risk & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify execution and change‑related risks; design and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Recommend improvements to execution processes, governance models, and cross‑functional routines to strengthen delivery quality and alignment.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience leading or supporting ISO 20022 migration initiatives, including regulatory readiness planning and delivery.
  • Hands‑on experience managing SWIFT platforms (FIN and/or MX) within a regulated financial institution.
  • Experience leading enterprise‑scale SWIFT ISO 20022 programs, coordinating impacts across large application portfolios and multiple Lines of Business.
  • Financial services experience with a strong focus on payments and transaction banking platforms.
  • Demonstrated product or platform management experience supporting enterprise payment systems, including cross‑border payments and messaging platforms.
  • Proficiency defining and executing product strategies for SWIFT platform readiness, aligning vendor roadmaps, internal technology delivery, and regulatory timelines.
  • Strong background establishing and operating product governance, risk management, and control frameworks to meet regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Track record of driving cross‑functional alignment across Product, Operations, Technology, Risk, and Compliance to deliver industry‑mandated capabilities within regulatory deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years in Business Execution, Implementation, Strategic Planning, or related experience (including through work experience, military, or education)
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience leading or directly supporting ISO 20022 migration initiatives, including regulatory readiness planning, execution, and delivery

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven ability to define and execute product strategy for SWIFT platform readiness, including alignment of vendor roadmaps, internal technology delivery, and regulatory timelines.
  • Experience establishing and operating product governance, risk management, and control frameworks in support of regulatory commitments and audit requirements.
  • Strong track record of driving cross‑functional alignment across Product, Operations, Technology, Risk, and Compliance to deliver industry‑mandated payment capabilities within regulatory deadlines.

Compensation Range:

$167,000 - $260,000 annual base salary. This role is eligible for annual discretionary bonus.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
