Hourly Pay Range:
$41.64 - $64.54 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Job Summary:
The Cloud Data Engineer is considered a subject matter expert, involved with all phases of software development from design to implementation to post implementation problem solving. This position is easily able to code, tests, debugs and documents program applications specific to their team. May be required to develop application designs, devise or modify procedures to solve system software or user problems and prepare detailed specifications. This position may be required to mentor peers and provide educational/informational sessions to improve workflows, troubleshooting or system design pertaining to their team.
What you will do:
- Assist in designing and implementing scalable cloud data architectures using Snowflake and Azure.
- Support the setup and configuration of Snowflake environments (warehouses, roles, resource monitors, data sharing).
- Work with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Key Vault, and Azure Active Directory.
- Collaborate with data engineers to design and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines.
- Help optimize Snowflake performance (clustering, partitioning, query optimization, warehouse sizing).
- Assist in implementing role-based access control (RBAC) within Snowflake and Azure.
- Support data security strategies including encryption, masking, and row/column-level security.
- Monitor system performance and cost usage in Snowflake and Azure.
- Support cost optimization strategies and resource scaling.
- Troubleshoot data load and performance issues.
- Document architecture designs, data flows, and standards.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, data engineers, BI teams, and security teams.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to architecture best practices.
What you will need:
- Education: 4-year college degree in computer science/information systems preferred or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- 4+ years of enterprise data warehouse industry experience
- 2+ years of experience in cloud data engineering or cloud platform support
- 4+ years of experience with data architecture and implementing data warehouse data marts
- Understanding of cloud networking basics (VNet, private endpoints, firewall rules)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Snowflake (data loading, SQL development, warehouse management)
- Microsoft Azure (ADF, Blob Storage, IAM concepts)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps concepts
- Informatica Power Center/ Cloud Data Integration experience a plus
- 4+ years of experience in writing complex SQL
- Strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation, issue resolution and facilitation skills are required
- Excellent written and verbal communication and decision-making skills
- Experience and understanding of data sources including 3rd party RDBMS, SQL server and Oracle
- Experience in QA/QC testing a plus
- Project management skills a plus
- Experience working with Research data models like OMOP/CAPriCORN a plus
- Experience with Business Intelligence tool like Power BI a plus
- Familiarity with healthcare industry, healthcare information systems is a plus
