What you'll do...

Position Summary: As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be a key contributor to our distributed platform, leading the design and development of mission-critical components. This hands-on role requires exceptional coding skills, a passion for technology, and the ability to guide and mentor a team of engineers. You will play a pivotal role in defining and maintaining our technical architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability requirements.
What you'll do:
1. Technical Leadership:
a. Guide and mentor a team of engineers, conducting code reviews and leading design discussions to ensure engineering best practices.
b. Act as a technical authority, providing direction and expertise to the team.
c. Drive the adoption of coding standards, design patterns, and development best practices.
2. Architectural Leadership:
a. Lead the creation and maintenance of our technical architecture, aligning it with business goals and scalability requirements.
b. Architect complex software systems, ensuring performance, security, and scalability needs are met.
3. Software Craftsmanship:
a. Consistently produce high-quality software with a focus on unit testing, regular code reviews, and continuous integration.
b. Uphold high standards in quality and operational excellence.
4. Technical Documentation:
a. Develop comprehensive technical documentation and presentations to clearly communicate architectural decisions and design options.
b. Ensure documentation aligns with project scopes, milestones, and deliverables.
5. Engineering Advocacy:
a. Promote and enforce technical standards across the organization to achieve concrete outcomes and drive engineering excellence.
b. Foster a culture of learning and innovation through hands-on technical guidance and mentorship.
6. Strategic Project Leadership:
a. Lead the discovery phase of major projects, ensuring the design aligns with business goals and technical requirements.
b. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes and milestones.
7. Cross-functional Collaboration:
a. Collaborate closely with Product Management, UX/UI, Quality Assurance, and DevOps teams.
b. Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
8. Innovation and Research:
a. Stay at the forefront of technological advancements, conducting research to identify emerging tools and methodologies.
b. Provide insights into machine learning and data science, leveraging exposure in these domains.
What you'll bring:
· 8+ years of experience in software development, focusing on distributed systems.
· Proficiency in Node.js or Java, Kotlin.
· Advanced knowledge of complex software design, distributed system design, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
· Excellent data analytics skills and the ability to identify and address data issues.
· Experience with distributed version control like Git or similar.
· Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment processes and tools such as Jenkins and Maven.
· Familiarity with public cloud technologies in Google Cloud Platform, especially big query, GCS, and Dataproc.
· Extensive experience in the design, development, and delivery of software products with a large user base.
· Strong track record in an architect role with large-scale software development data-backed services and applications.
· A clear vision for architecture design and excellent communication skills to articulate that vision to all levels of stakeholders.
· Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to balance conflicting interests in a complex and fast-paced environment.
· Exposure to machine learning and data science is a plus.

Sunnyvale, California US-11656: The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00

Bellevue, Washington US-11663: The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
