Position Responsibilities:

The Senior Supply Chain Technical Data Steward will implement and operate technical data stewardship for supply chain datasets supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS). This role partners with supply chain domain stewards, data engineering, MDM, security/compliance, and program teams to ensure authoritative, compliant, and observable data flows (ERP, MDM, integrations, data lake/warehouse). The role focuses on data contracts, schema management, lineage, automated data quality, MDM validation, and remediation of complex technical data issues in a regulated/defense environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and enforce data contracts, schema standards, and interface specs for supply chain integrations and APIs.
  • Instrument and validate end-to-end data lineage and provenance for critical supply chain feeds; maintain cataloged lineage.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting (schema drift, null rates, duplicates, freshness, referential integrity).
  • Support MDM/Governance: validate match/merge logic, survivorship rules, and Golden Record consolidation.
  • Review and validate ETL/ELT/pipeline transformations and integration changes prior to deployment.
  • Ensure compliance with defense-specific requirements (ITAR, EAR, CUI, DFARS): classification, masking, access controls, and auditability.
  • Lead technical root-cause analysis and remediation for pipeline incidents; mentor junior technical stewards.
  • Produce technical stewardship artifacts: runbooks, data contract templates, onboarding guides.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

This position is for 1st shift.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years in data engineering, technical stewardship, MDM, or related technical role supporting supply chain systems.
  • Hands-on experience with schema management, data profiling, lineage validation, metadata management and implementing data quality automation monitors.
  • Strong Python, SQL skills and experience with ETL/ELT, data catalogs, lineage tools, and DQ platforms.
  • Practical experience with MDM concepts (match/merge, survivorship) and ERP/WMS/TMS integration patterns.
  • Experience operating in regulated or defense-related environments; understanding of ITAR/EAR/CUI/DFARS data handling.
  • Strong troubleshooting and cross-system root-cause analysis skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, AWS/Azure/GCP, Informatica, Talend, Collibra/Alation, Informatica EDC, or MDM platforms (Informatica MDM, Reltio, Stibo).
  • Familiarity with EDI/messaging (X12/AS2), API management, CI/CD for data pipelines, and data observability tooling.
  • Prior aerospace/defense contracting experience and active security clearance or ability to obtain one

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 6years' related work experience, etc.)
