About this role:
This Principal Data Architect within the Chief Data Office (CDO) is responsible for an assigned portfolio of applications and the associated business-technology strategies. This role will partner with architects across the organization to help drive implementation of the enterprise data strategy in alignment with defined standards and patterns. The individual in this role will be responsible for evaluating requirements, consulting with stakeholders and helping to drive architecture designs and documentation for the development of data applications. In addition, they will help to evangelize the enterprise data strategy and contribute to its ongoing evolution.
In this role, you will:
- Lead in component architecture and participate in enterprise architecture activity
- Participate in the definition of future technology architecture and strategy
- Develop and maintain business system and corporate architectures
- Review and research complex technology and system assessments for component architecture
- Support implementation of moderate to complex projects and initiatives
- Produce project architecture designs
- Ensure applications adhere to established Wells Fargo standards, policies, methodologies and industry best practices
- Understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported areas
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and capabilities in order to prepare and respond to customer needs and expectations
- Provide in-depth technical and systems consultation to internal clients and technical management to ensure alignment with the Enterprise Architecture
- Drive modernization of the data movement and processing capabilities of the organization
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience working with data platforms, tools and strategies
- 4+ experience implementing data oriented solutions to include Data Warehousing, Big Data, ETL etc.
- 4+ years of experience designing and implementing large scale data processing environments
- 2+ years of experience creating strategy
- Experience with Data Pipeline and ETL/ELT technologies
- Experience and training in Cloud, Data, DevSecOps, Domain Driven Design, Archimate, Architecture Frameworks (TOGAF) fundamentals
- Experience implementing and managing various data transfer approaches including file transfer, Change Data Capture, Pub/Sub and streaming
- Experience with implementations within a Hybrid Cloud environment supporting both private and public components
- Knowledgeable with respect to SOA, microservices and event based architectures
- Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience creating architecture roadmaps
Job Expectations:
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
- Ability to work on-site in one of the listed locations in a hybrid model. There is no option for fully remote work.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
This position will work with partner architecture teams to help drive data solutions that align with enterprise strategies
