Primary Job Duties

CVS Health is hiring for a Senior Manager Software Development Engineer to join the team. The right candidate will direct activities for a team of software development and senior operations engineers providing guidance and mentorship, and setting performance goals to contribute to the company's business objectives. The Senior Manager Software Development Engineer will execute upon operational strategy for software support or automation projects, defining operational requirements, delivery timelines, and develops metrics to drive effective execution.

The Senior Manager Software Development Engineer will facilitates risk assessments by troubleshooting production issues, assessing available resources, leading critical incident bridges, and providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.

The Senior Manager Software Development Engineer will direct operational department throughout the transition of software development to operations production runtime, including access management, support requirements gathering, escalation matrix, knowledge base development, team training, and operational readiness. The right candidate will ensure the operations department adheres to documented ITIL and team best practices, quality standards, and industry trends. In this role you will collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams, including product managers and business stakeholders, aligning priorities, resolving conflicts, handling escalations, and maintaining productive relationships.

The Senior Manager Software Development Engineer will research and evaluate the latest operational trends, methodologies, and industry trends, capitalizing on innovative technology solutions and integrating best options to create simpler operations. The right candidate will

deliver expert technical guidance, make informed decisions, and support the team when faced with complex challenges, while providing feedback loops to raise the technical capabilities of the team.

You will also hire software developers and operational engineers, while conducting performance reviews, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes continuous learning opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience leading projects or managing directs
  • 4+ years experience managing enterprise level major incident management events
  • 2+ years experience with supporting applications or services within data center or Azure cloud environments
  • Prior Healthcare/Insurance industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills
  • Adept at defining operational metrics
  • Mastery of problem solving and decision making skills
  • Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills
  • Cloud Certification (Azure Fundamentals) preferred
  • IT Operational certification (A+, Network+, ITIL4, etc.) preferred

Education

  • Bachelor degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience(HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $236,900.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
