Senior API Management Architect
About Your Role
The Senior API Management Architect is crucial in shaping our global API Management and integration environment. In this role, you will collaborate with development teams to design Fiserv’s API integration services platform. You support enterprise solutions with extensive experience in API Management and oversee the complete lifecycle of API proxies and API onboarding. A successful candidate ensures well-designed APIs adhering to platform standards, promoting code reuse and collaboration.
What you’ll do:
- Plan and deliver API management solutions using platforms like Apigee Edge, Apigee X, and Hybrid
- Design API specifications and develop proxies, implementing custom policies using Java, JavaScript, Node.js, Python, and other languages
- Configure the Apigee platform, including keystores, trust stores, and KVMs
- Implement API layer requirements like security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, logging, and request/response modifications
- Build microservices systems using Java, Spring, or Node.js to support API management solutions
- Standardize and automate CI/CD deployments for proxies and dependent entities
- Ensure platform health, manage SLAs, and work with QA teams to implement API testing automation
Experience you’ll need to have:
- 6+ years of firsthand development experience with Google Apigee platforms like Apigee X, Hybrid, or Edge, including proxy development, deployments, and configuration
- 4+ years of direct experience with major programming and scripting languages like Java, JavaScript, Node.js, and Python
- 2+ years of experience in developing microservices
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent military experience
Experience that would be great to have:
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Harness, Gitlab) for deploying Apigee proxies
- Cloud developer or cloud architect certification in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with API testing and automation test frameworks
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, or experience with cloud environments like Azure or AWS
How you’ll work:
- Fiserv emphasizes in-person collaboration to help you grow your career while shaping the future of fintech, this role is on-site Monday through Friday
- This role requires being on-call during non-standard and/or overnight hours on a rotational basis
- This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment
Travel:
- Approximately 10% travel off-site or to other office locations is expected
