Job Overview:
The Senior Scrum Master plays a pivotal role in driving agile transformation within the organization. This position is responsible for facilitating effective delivery across teams, ensuring adherence to SAFe guidelines, and championing continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, a proactive approach to risk and issue management, and a proven track record in guiding complex projects to successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for 1-3 teams with high complexities and dependencies
- Proactively manage risks and issues or impediments by identifying potential impacts, target resolution dates, owners, and mitigation strategies, while ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Facilitate Scaling Agile Framework (SAFe) ceremonies and ensure adherence to SAFe guidelines to enhance team alignment and productivity.
- Lead Program Increment (PI) planning sessions and provide support to teams in meeting PI objectives. Oversee daily Scrum and Kanban activities, including the facilitation of stand-ups, backlog refinement, and workflow optimization.
- Participate in prioritization activities with product owners and stakeholders to ensure business objectives are met.
- Facilitate executive stakeholder readouts, delivering clear progress updates and insights for informed decision-making.
- Facilitate retrospective sessions and drive continuous improvement initiatives to cultivate a culture of learning and adaptability across teams.
- Manage and coordinate dependencies across multiple teams, ensuring alignment, early identification of cross-team risks, and streamlined delivery of integrated solutions.
- Ensure compliance with Change and Release standards and guidelines. Appropriately prioritize and plan the remediation of production defects, incidents, and problem records.
- Ensure adherence to Enterprise EPMO standards, guidelines, and governance frameworks across all assigned Agile teams, aligning delivery practices with organizational expectations and controls.
- Track, report, and continuously improve against Enterprise EPMO governance metrics, including delivery health, predictability, risk, dependency management, and compliance indicators.
- Partner with the Enterprise EPMO, Release Train Engineers, and Program Leadership to support governance reviews, audits, and readiness checkpoints as required.
- Ensure transparency and accuracy of Agile metrics and artifacts to support Enterprise EPMO reporting, executive dashboards, and decision‑making.
- Effectively prioritize and ensure timely remediation of all identified vulnerabilities, risk findings, and audit findings in accordance with established Cyber Security SLAs, partnering with technology, security, and governance stakeholders to drive compliance and risk reduction.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience working in large-scale, multi-team Agile organizations
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Scrum Master in agile environments, preferably at the senior level
- Working knowledge of SAFe principles, Agile methodologies, and project management best practices
- Expertise in both Scrum and Kanban frameworks
Core Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to manage risks and issues proactively in complex projects.
- Exceptional facilitation and communication skills, with experience leading PI planning and executive briefings.
- Proven experience managing dependencies and coordination among multiple agile teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships across teams and stakeholders.
- SAFe Scrum Master certification or equivalent Agile certifications.
- Familiarity with agile project management tools such as Jira, Rally, or equivalent.
Pay Range:
$112,090-$186,816/year
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
