Position: Software Engineer III
Job Location: 1345 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089
Duties: Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Understand the Business/Stakeholder/Technical requirements and assist in analyzing the existing solutions to address the needs. Prepare requirement traceability matrix and maintain traceability between business requirements, functional requirements, design and test cases. Contribute to the creation of user stories for component/module/simple requirements. Create/configure minimalistic code for entire component/application and ensure the components are meeting business/technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability and high-scalability needs. Assist in the selection of appropriate languages, development standards and tools. Take the initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work. Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), Testing or any other process. Implement telemetry features as required independently. Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration. Map the customer requirements into test objectives. Identify and create test cases for the component/module. Execute test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component. Execute different types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs. Track and analyze defects for the component/ module and carry out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes. Analyze defects from past projects/solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects. Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application. Conduct complex maintenance procedures for applications independently. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the application by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics. Perform maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities. Analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and analysis. Evaluate change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible. Ensure adherence to the project against approved milestones and timelines.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
Skills required: Experience developing and designing Restful APIs and Kafka expected microservices using Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot framework. Experience performing Automation, Stress tests, and Resilience tests using JMeter to create testing scripts. Experience with App Source/Version control using Git to manage code changes and collaborating with developers. Experience designing and testing SQL and NoSQL Databases, including Cassandra, Cosmos, and Azure Experience implementing ChangeFeed for continuous live data sync using Cosmic Pipeline. Experience with software code coverage using Junit/Mockito and software troubleshooting using Postman/Swagger. Demonstrated knowledge of distributed platforms including Kafka and how to use those platforms for facilitating communication between microservices. Experience with root cause analysis to track and analyze defects for a component or module. Experience carrying out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes and analyzing defects from past projects and solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects. Experience with continuous integration and Continuous deployment (CICD) to ensure adherence of a project against approved milestones and timelines using Concord and Looper. Experience with software monitoring using Grafana dashboards and Prometheus/Spotlight alerts to monitor and evaluate the performance of an application. Experience with software analysis using application logs, including Splunk and OpenObserve, and maintenance activity data. Experience providing and supporting implementation of business solutions, identifying business needs, and determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices. Experience developing applications using Tomcat server and building applications using Maven. Experience configuring management using CCM and storing secrets in Vault. Experience with Kubernetes, including understanding its architecture (pods, namespaces, clusters, deployments) and proficient in reading and writing YAML configuration files for Kubernetes. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
