Position: Software Engineer III
Job Location: 1395 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089
- Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of software engineering plans; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Understand the business, stakeholder, and technical requirements and assist in analyzing the existing software solutions to address the needs. Prepare requirement traceability matrix and maintain traceability between business requirements, functional requirements, design and test cases. Contribute to the creation of user stories for components, modules, and simple requirements. Create and configure minimalistic code for entire software components and applications and ensure the software components meet business and technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability, and high-scalability needs. Assist in the selection of appropriate languages and software development standards and tools. Take the initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work. Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), testing, or any other process. Implement telemetry features as required independently. Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration. Map the customer requirements into test objectives. Identify and create test cases for the components and modules. Execute test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component. Execute different types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs. Track and analyze defects for the components and modules and carry out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes. Analyze defects from past software engineering solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects. Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application. Conduct complex maintenance procedures for software applications independently. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the software application by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics. Perform maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities. Analyze software application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and analysis. Evaluate software change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible.
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area.
Skills required: Experience with designing and developing scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions on GCP, including secure data management with BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage. Experience with architecting distributed systems, implementing service orchestration, applying cloud-native design patterns, and following the SDLC to meet scalability, performance, and security requirements. Experience with full-stack development using Java, C++, SQL, Angular, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Experience with building microservices using Node.js and cloud-native runtimes, with focus on secure data processing, automation, and scalability. Experience with integrating APIs, designing authentication flows, leveraging containerization, serverless computing, auto-scaling, building, and managing real-time and batch data pipelines with Apache Beam (Dataflow) and Pub/Sub. Experience with implementing data validation, fault-tolerant processing, and automated error handling in distributed data environments. Experience with developing and managing CI/CD pipelines and automating deployment processes using tools including Cloud Build, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions. Experience with application monitoring, log analysis, and system performance tuning using tools including Stack driver, Grafana, and Logs Explorer, including conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Demonstrated knowledge in applying Agile and DevOps practices including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative delivery using collaboration tools including Jira, ServiceNow, and Confluence. Experience with automated testing, defect management, and regression analysis to ensure code quality, system stability, and performance. Experience contributing to solution design, leading technical efforts, and creating technical documentation supporting development, operations, and process improvements. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
