About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support our COO Technology Group. This role is part of a high-impact team focused on protecting the organization through the implementation of advanced analytics and intelligent risk monitoring. You’ll work at the intersection of data, technology, and business, to surface insights that strengthen internal operational risk oversight.

The team builds and supports modern applications that leverage SAS and AI-driven analytics to proactively identify and monitor internal risk across CSBB and Consumer Lending. Technology professionals are embedded directly with Frontline Monitoring partners, working in a true product model as part of mature Agile teams. This creates a highly collaborative environment where your work has clear visibility, real-world impact, and a direct connection to business outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of experience in SAS programming, including supporting, analyzing, and modernizing enterprise SAS (Base SAS, SQL, Macros, batch processing).
  • 4+ years of experience in creating production‑ready Python solutions (pandas, PySpark, SQL).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Azure

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of practical knowledge of AI/LLMs, including prompt engineering, output validation, and governed enterprise usage
