About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Engineering Associate – Automation & Platform Operations to support day‑to‑day operations of our Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms. This role sits within the larger Infrastructure organization, which supports and delivers enterprise infrastructure services that enable Wells Fargo customers globally. Infrastructure provides the foundational technology platforms—including networking, production services, storage, data centers, mainframe, midrange, cloud‑based systems, distributed systems, and international infrastructure—ensuring the company operates securely and reliably.
In this position, you will assist with platform operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and execution of run procedures that maintain the stability, security, and performance of our Kubernetes and OpenShift environments. This is an excellent opportunity for early‑career candidates to build foundational skills in container orchestration, Linux operations, automation, and platform reliability while learning directly from senior engineers and operations leaders across Infrastructure and ITSO.
You will also participate in the Career Opportunities in Development and Engineering (CODE) Program — a two‑year development program that runs alongside your full-time experience. CODE is designed for recent grads, coding bootcamp alumni and individuals with hands-on technical experience looking to break into tech. No four‑year degree is required.

In this role, you will:
- Platform Operations: Assist with routine operations across Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters, including deployments, environment checks, maintenance tasks, and basic node management.
- Incident Support: Participate in incident triage, assist with troubleshooting, review logs, and document findings following runbooks and team guidance.
- Monitoring & Alert Response: Monitor dashboards, alerts, and logs; follow operational guidelines for responding or escalating issues.
- Automation Support: Contribute to simple automation tasks using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages to reduce repetitive operational work.
- Operational Compliance: Follow security controls, patching standards, and change management processes.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers to support platform stability, learn best practices, and continuously grow your operational skill set.
Required Qualifications:
6+ months of Technology Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 6+ months of experience in Systems Operations, IT Operations, Platform Support, development/DevOps coursework, internships, or hands‑on lab experience.
- 6+ months of experience with Linux fundamentals, including basic commands, log viewing, and system navigation.
- Basic exposure to Kubernetes, OpenShift, or other container platforms, demonstrated through coursework, labs, personal projects, or previous work.
- Exposure to container tools (Docker, Podman, or similar) through labs, projects, or early professional experience.
- Exposure to Git or Jira, demonstrated through at least one academic, internship, or personal project.
- Ability to write basic scripts in Python, Bash, or a similar language to support automation or operational tasks.
- Experience using monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk through coursework, training, or project work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, managing email and calendars in Outlook, and building presentations in PowerPoint.
- Strong interest in cloud operations, container platforms, and platform reliability engineering.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and documentation skills through academic work, labs, or ticketing experience.
- Bachelor's in computer science or related field preferred but not required.
Job Expectations:
- The selected candidate for this role must be able to begin employment by March 18, 2026, in a full‑time capacity.
- This position is required to work from the designated posted office location and must be able to meet all expectations of the current hybrid work schedule, including regular in‑office attendance as defined by the team and program requirements.
- Actively engage in the two-year CODE Program, including participation in training, mentorship, networking events, and career development activities.
- Relocation assistance is not provided for this role.
