- Position Overview:
The Senior Vice President, Head of Front Office Engineering, AI & Technology Modernization serves as the accountable executive for front office engineering, embedded innovation, artificial intelligence, and the front office technology modernization program. This role is responsible for ensuring mission‑critical, client‑facing front office platforms deliver scalability, resilience, and differentiation while evolving toward modern, AI‑enabled, enterprise‑grade architectures. This executive role owns the end‑to‑end technology outcomes for front office platforms, translating business strategy into execution while maintaining strong governance, regulatory alignment, and operational excellence.
More specifically, this executive will be accountable for:
* Stability, scalability, and resilience of front office platforms.
* Adoption of AI‑enabled capabilities embedded in front office products.
* Successful execution of front office modernization initiatives with reduced technical debt.
* Improved time‑to‑market and developer productivity.
* Strong regulatory posture and enterprise risk alignment.
* High confidence from business, client, and executive stakeholders
* Key Responsibilities:
Front Office Engineering Ownership
* Own the end‑to‑end technology strategy and outcomes for front office engineering platforms, including trading, execution, and client workflows.
* Translate front office business priorities into multi‑year engineering, platform, and modernization roadmaps.
* Serve as the senior escalation point for platform risk, delivery tradeoffs, and investment decisions.
* Lead senior engineering leadership, including the Managing Director responsible for the Front Office Engineering Vertical.
* AI & Innovation Strategy
* Act as the executive owner for AI and innovation outcomes within front office engineering.
* Ensure AI transitions from experimentation and productivity tooling into enterprise‑grade, production‑ready, client‑facing capabilities.
* Partner with Product and Business leadership to embed AI directly into front office workflows and platforms.
* Serve as the senior interface to enterprise AI initiatives and emerging technology programs.
* Establish executive accountability for delivering compliant, scalable AI using approved platforms and operating models.
* Ensure AI solutions align with Responsible AI standards, regulatory expectations, and enterprise risk frameworks.
* Partner closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Architecture, and Enterprise AI leadership to ensure trust and transparency.
* Technology Modernization Leadership
* Serve as the executive owner of the Front Office Technology Modernization Program.
* Define and drive a multi‑year modernization strategy encompassing:
+ Legacy platform transformation
+ Cloud adoption and scalability
+ Platform simplification and technical debt reduction
* Ensure modernization efforts are tightly integrated with AI enablement, platform resiliency, and cost efficiency goals.
* Balance near‑term delivery commitments with long‑term architectural sustainability.
* Execution, Stability & Operational Excellence
* Ensure predictable delivery across front office engineering, AI enablement, and modernization initiatives.
* Hold senior leaders accountable for measurable improvements in:
+ Platform resilience, scalability, and availability
+ Developer productivity and speed‑to‑market
+ Operational efficiency and stability
* Maintain executive accountability for operational readiness during major platform migrations and transformations.
* Stakeholder, Client & Market Leadership
* Serve as the senior technology and innovation partner to front office business leadership.
* Represent front office technology, AI, and modernization strategy with clients, partners, executive leadership, and boards.
* Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly in executive governance forums.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field; master’s degree highly preferred.
Experience:
* 20+ years of senior technology leadership in enterprise or fintech environments.
* Proven experience leading large‑scale, front office or revenue‑critical engineering organizations.
* Skills and Characteristics
* Deep understanding of modern platform architecture, AI systems, and regulated delivery.
* Demonstrated ability to translate innovation and modernization into commercial outcomes.
* Executive presence with clients, boards, and C‑suite stakeholders.
* Proven ability to lead transformation and build high‑performing leadership teams.
Salary Range:
$225,000 - $337,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
