Roles and Responsibilities:
Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Service Design:
- Architect and oversee the delivery of a Cybersecurity Service Rail offering:
- Remote Access: Secure access using appropriate architecture.
- Identity Management: Integration and management of tools (including Microsoft Active Directory) while working to leverage one-way trust of enterprise AD.
- Managed File Transfer: Secure file and data exchange services.
- Patch & Update Management for Operating Systems in use.
- Container Registry: Deployment and governance.
- System Automation: Configuration management, system hardening, reporting, and automation.
- Additional services including virtualization, email relay, antivirus, and other foundational services.
DevOps & CI/CD Enablement:
- Lead the design, implementation, and support of a self-hosted Agile development platform.
- Promote the use of CI/CD pipelines and best practices to support modern software delivery.
- Integrate infrastructure and security automation into development lifecycles.
Leadership & Governance:
- Establish and refine standard work for infrastructure services including observability, access controls, performance, and cost optimization.
- Drive service standardization and reusable patterns across teams and environments.
- Champion Agile, Lean, and DevSecOps methodologies for infrastructure delivery and operations.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies in:
- Containerization and orchestration
- Platform engineering
- Cloud-native infrastructure
- Distributed/streaming systems operations
- DevOps and GitOps practices
- CI/CD frameworks and toolchains
- Continuously assess and recommend improvements to systems, tools, and processes.
Related Skills & Experience:
- Deep expertise in server and clustered environments involving Linux & Windows environments, including capability to Install, configure, administer, harden, and upgrade Linux servers.
- Practiced understanding of Networking fundamentals and distributed systems.
- CISSP Credentialed (or practiced) in security infrastructure services, their controls and necessary audit trails with ability to integrate LDAP, SAML, and Active Directory and deploy in highly segmented networks.
- Demonstrable experience with:
- Red Hat Satellite, WSUS
- Harbor, Ansible, GitLab
- Solid understanding of virtualization and containerization platforms, network services, and endpoint protection with hands-on experience in installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance.
- Experience with SLOs/SLIs as well as health monitoring dashboards, automating recurring checks, post-deployment validation, remediation and incident triage.
- Solid scripting and automation skills, clear communicator who writes excellent documents and can translate ambiguous input into clear objectives and practices.
- Well-experienced with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and Lean principles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of with 5+ years practiced experience in architecture
