Job Overview
The Director, Data & Intelligence will lead the semantic layer and intelligence function within the Data Organization. This role is a strategic people leader, bridging the gap between raw data engineering and business facing analytics with heavy emphasis on enabling AI agents and modern business intelligence. This role is critical for creating a "single source of truth" by implementing a universal semantic layer that defines business metrics, hierarchies, and relationships consistently across an organization. The Director, Data & Intelligence owns relationships with diverse business stakeholders to understand current and anticipate future customer and business needs, understands requirements and defines relevant strategic questions as well as partners with senior business leaders across the Data CoE peer groups to deliver innovative solutions for the organization. Considering internal and external stakeholders, the Director, Data & Intelligence will leverage data to provide a vision for strategic growth, consumer insights, and growth initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Works with business stakeholders to understand current and anticipate future customer and business needs, understand requirements, and define relevant strategic questions to define functional strategy, opportunity, roadmap, and priorities.
- Effectively partner with Data CoE peer groups to source information needs in alignment with Data CoE best practices.
- Developing a semantic foundation that makes corporate data understandable to LLMs (Large Language Models) and agentic, AI turning data into actionable insights.
- Establishing Governance & Consistency: Ensuring metrics are defined once and used consistently across all reporting, BI tools, and AI systems, eliminating conflicting definitions.
- Translating complex data structures (tables and columns) into user-friendly business terminology and defining semantic views that enhance query performance, reducing dependance on I.T. for data modeling.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent work or educational experience. (Required)
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent work or educational experience. (Preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise data management, with a minimum of 10 years in business intelligence, analytics, and applied insights using advanced methodologies. Demonstrated experience driving business outcomes required.
- 7-10 years of management experience required.
- 7-10 years of experience leveraging data and analytics tools, platforms, and technologies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Worked with data and analytics tools, platforms, and technologies.
- Demonstrated experience driving enterprise data, analytics, and insights solution in cloud-based environments such as Snowflake, SAP, and Azure; and other technologies such as SAP Business Objects, Tableau, Power BI, R, Python, SQL, etc.
- Collaborative with key business stakeholders and Data CoE peers.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders in both business and technology to anticipate, interpret and challenge thinking when appropriate to align organizational goals and resources.
- Practices clear and succinct verbal and written communication, communicating with confidence and poise.
- Manages, mentors, and inspires a team, managing performance, goals, and development.
- Assess the business impact of different solutions and the trade-offs between customer needs, technology requirements and costs.
- Analyze and communicate customer adoption, performance, time to market, quality and other metrics to stakeholders.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Base Pay Range: $182,800 - $247,300
Corporate Bonus Target: 25%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
