What you will do

As an Underwriting Analyst within Klarna’s credit decisioning function, you will help ensure that credit decisions are responsible, fair, and efficient by combining data-driven models, bureau insights, and underwriting expertise. You will work cross-functionally to streamline risk policies, migrate underwriting logic into a global platform, and optimize credit strategies that enhance consumer trust, portfolio health, and profitability.

• Analyze consumer credit risk using large datasets, SQL, Python, and credit bureau information to improve underwriting policies.

• Collaborate with product, risk, and regional teams to migrate logic into Klarna’s Global Underwriting Platform (GUP).

• Support rollout of consistent POS credit policies across multiple markets.

• Align purchase power and pre-qualification logic across Klarna’s App and One Card.

• Optimize credit bureau strategies for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• Translate complex data into actionable policy improvements balancing growth and risk.

Who you are

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field.

• Experience in consumer credit risk, underwriting, or credit policy roles.

• Proficient in SQL and comfortable with large datasets.

• Familiar with credit bureau data, repayment behavior, and credit risk modeling.

• Analytical and detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.

• Effective communicator with strong policy translation skills.

• Self-driven and excited to build the future of global credit underwriting at Klarna.
