Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Office Job Description Job Summary The Senior MDM Architect provides global architectural leadership and strategic ownership for the Fisher Scientific (CCG) Product Master Data Management (MDM) ecosystem. This role serves as the enterprise subject matter authority for product master data architecture within Fisher Scientific, responsible for defining architecture standards, governance frameworks, and long-term platform strategy that enable scalable, high-quality product data across the organization. The Senior MDM Architect leads the architecture and evolution of the Product MDM landscape centered on Oracle Product Data Hub (PDH) and integrated with a complex ecosystem including Supplier Exchange, Item Maintenance applications, WebMethods integrations, Databricks Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), machine learning enrichment layers (TAMR / Oracle AI), and Hybris Product Information Management. This role partners closely with enterprise architecture, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure product master data is managed as a strategic asset supporting global Fisher Scientific divisions, supply chain operations, digital commerce platforms, analytics environments, and regulatory processes. Scope & Impact • Serves as the architecture authority for Product Master Data Management across Fisher Scientific (CCG), defining architecture standards and governance models used across global divisions and technology platforms. • Owns the end-to-end architectural vision and evolution of the Product MDM ecosystem supporting all Fisher Scientific divisions globally. • Influences architecture decisions across multiple engineering, integration, analytics, and application teams supporting Fisher Scientific platforms. • Establishes standards for product master data modeling, integration patterns, data quality frameworks, and lifecycle management across CCG product data systems. • Partners with enterprise architecture, data governance, and business leadership to ensure product master data supports global Fisher Scientific supply chain operations, digital commerce platforms, analytics environments, and regulatory reporting systems. • Provides architectural leadership and mentorship to solution architects and engineering teams responsible for implementing MDM and product data solutions. • Drives modernization and innovation across the Product MDM ecosystem, including adoption of advanced data platforms, AI-driven enrichment capabilities, and scalable integration architectures. Key Responsibilities Enterprise Architecture & Strategy • Serve as the architecture authority for Product Master Data Management across Fisher Scientific (CCG). • Define and govern architecture standards for data models, integration patterns, domain ownership, and lifecycle management. • Own the long-term architectural vision and platform roadmap for the Fisher Scientific Product MDM ecosystem. • Ensure alignment with Thermo Fisher’s Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) architecture and enterprise data strategy. • Participate in architecture governance forums and strategic technology planning discussions impacting Fisher Scientific platforms. • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to strengthen the product data ecosystem. • Lead architecture strategy for modernization initiatives including AI/ML-driven data enrichment, data quality automation, and platform scalability improvements. MDM Governance & Data Strategy • Establish and govern the product master data governance framework for Fisher Scientific (CCG). • Define standards for data quality, stewardship, lineage, and lifecycle management. • Partner with enterprise data governance teams to ensure alignment with corporate data policies and governance standards. • Collaborate with business data owners across Fisher Scientific divisions to define data ownership, stewardship roles, and operational governance processes. • Promote adoption of data governance best practices across product master data processes and platforms. Platform Architecture & Ecosystem Leadership • Lead architecture oversight of the global Fisher Scientific Product MDM technology ecosystem. • Define integration patterns and architecture standards across platforms including Oracle Product Data Hub (PDH), Supplier Exchange, Item Maintenance applications, WebMethods, Databricks Enterprise Data Platform, machine learning enrichment platforms, and Hybris Product Information Management. • Ensure architecture designs support enterprise scalability, reliability, security, and performance requirements. • Partner with engineering and integration teams to ensure architecture consistency across platforms. • Ensure product data architecture supports downstream systems including commerce platforms, supply chain systems, analytics environments, and regulatory systems used across Fisher Scientific divisions. Delivery Governance & Technical Leadership • Provide architectural leadership across multiple delivery teams supporting the Product MDM ecosystem. • Guide solution architects and engineers in implementing enterprise-aligned architecture patterns and standards. • Conduct technical and architectural impact assessments for new capabilities and integrations. • Partner with Product Owners, Program Managers, and engineering leadership to ensure architecture supports strategic initiatives and platform scalability. • Mentor solution architects and technical leaders within the enterprise data and MDM domain. Basic Qualifications • Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in enterprise architecture with progressive technical leadership responsibilities • Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field • Proven experience designing and leading enterprise-scale MDM platforms. • Experience with Oracle PDH or similar Product MDM solutions. • Experience defining architecture standards, governance frameworks, and integration architectures. • Experience working across multi-team enterprise technology environments without direct reporting authority. • Strong knowledge of data integration architectures, APIs, middleware platforms, and data pipelines. • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, AWS, or Azure. • Understanding of DevOps practices, operational architecture, and platform reliability principles. • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience implementing machine learning or AI-driven data enrichment solutions. • Experience defining enterprise data governance frameworks including lineage and metadata management. • Experience working with low-code application platforms supporting operational data workflows. • Experience in large enterprise or regulated industries such as life sciences, manufacturing, or healthcare. • Experience participating in architecture governance programs or architecture review boards.
