What you will do
In this position, you will strengthen Klarna’s protection against financial crime risks originating from our merchant partnerships. You will advance the way Klarna assesses, monitors, and manages merchant fraud exposure across the entire merchant lifecycle, ensuring our processes remain robust, scalable, and forward-looking. You will deepen our understanding of merchant fraud patterns, identify emerging threats, and lead improvements to detection, prevention, and monitoring capabilities. You will partner closely with commercial, onboarding, and operational teams to support safe, sustainable merchant growth while maintaining Klarna’s risk standards.

Who you are
• Extensive experience in fraud prevention, AML, financial crime analysis, or merchant risk management within financial services, banking or fintech
• Deep understanding of payment processing and merchant-related fraud risks in B2B or merchant-facing environments
• Proven experience assessing fraud exposure and designing effective risk management frameworks
• Strong analytical capabilities with experience conducting complex fraud analysis or investigations
• Familiarity with transaction monitoring, merchant risk scoring, and fraud detection tools
• Skilled in communicating insights and partnering with commercial, operational, and product teams
• Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced or high-growth environments

Awesome to have
• Experience performing competitor or market benchmarking within financial crime or merchant risk
• Exposure to merchant lifecycle processes, including onboarding, monitoring, and remediation
• Experience supporting commercial teams with risk considerations for new agreements or product launches
• Ability to translate data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders
