Position Summary:
Join Fortune 7 CVS Health as a Sr. Software Engineer to lead our organization's efforts to develop and drive the strategic vision in establishing the SRE & Observability function for Aetna Technology division. As a lead, you will play a critical role in shaping the direction of SRE practices within the company, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive transformative outcomes, best practices and building a center of excellence.
As a Sr. Engineer, you will play a critical role in defining the product requirements, architecture and design and supporting the successful delivery of our SRE and Observability solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and operations, to ensure the products meet customer needs and drive business growth.

In this position you will:

  • As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing digital solutions and systems.
  • Apply advanced technical expertise to architect and code software applications, conduct system testing and debugging, collaborate with cross-functional teams and Contribute to the overall technical direction and innovation of digital engineering projects.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to internal teams and customers on SRE and Observability best practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, procedures, and best practices. Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and mentorship within the SRE team.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in SRE and Observability, bringing innovative ideas to the product roadmap.
  • Ensure that SRE practices adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, preferably in the SRE, Observability, or DevOps space and well versed in SRE principles, SRE Metrics, Observability, Monitoring and Automation.
  • At least 3 years of experience with OpenTelemetry (OTEL) standards and at least one of the Observability & Monitoring LGTM platforms such as Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Managed Prometheus or Mimir.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear product requirements.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment, driving the product development process from ideation to delivery.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with onshore/offshore teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in implementing and improving SRE metrics in complex and distributed environments.
  • •Experience working with LGTM tools such as Loki, Grafana, Tempo & Prometheus on Azure, GCP and or AWS cloud.
  • Experience with APM and Logging tools such as AppDynamics, New Relic & Splunk.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience).

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$101,970.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
