Our team brings together experts in product management, design, engineering, research, and analytics to create seamless ways for customers to subscribe and save on frequently purchased items, manage shopping lists, and create registries for important moments in their lives. We focus on intuitive experiences that make it easy for customers to stay organized, never run out of essentials, and share their needs with others. By leveraging customer insights and data-driven decisions, we continuously improve these experiences to reduce friction and make everyday shopping more convenient and personalized.

About Team:
Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the discovery phase of small- to medium-scale Web Engineering projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams to determine project strategy; interpreting strategy into scalable front-end solutions; and obtaining cross-functional approvals.
  • Troubleshoot business and production issues for web applications by gathering and evaluating information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; analyzing issues based on expert knowledge of front-end technologies and programming; formulating and implementing an action plan; interpreting results to determine further action; performing root cause analysis across web platforms to prevent future occurrences of issues; and completing technical documentation.
  • Provide web engineering support to the business by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, implementation strategies); forecasting for future technologies; identifying short- and long-term solutions; facilitating resolution development; and leading cross-functional partnerships to implement resolutions.
  • Lead small project teams for Web Engineering projects by providing direction regarding project plans; identifying short- and long-term solutions and timelines; providing guidance regarding project issues or roadblocks; reviewing and providing feedback for proposed solutions; and performing design and code reviews for front-end changes.
  • Manage small- to medium-scale Web Engineering projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams to review project requirements; translating requirements into scalable front-end solutions; gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirements, and wireframes); writing and developing code (for example, JavaScript, React, and related frameworks); building reusable React components with modular CSS; managing client-side data using Redux, React Query, and GraphQL; integrating solutions with backend services and APIs; developing intuitive and responsive user interface solutions; conducting testing to ensure solutions are functional and performant; communicating project status to team members and stakeholders; determining solutions to issues; refactoring and improving existing codebases to maintain code quality and scalability; ensuring on-time delivery; and collaborating with project managers to provide guidance on project implementation plans.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and UX teams to create intuitive and engaging user experiences that simplify complex workflows and enable seamless integration between applications; demonstrate technical expertise in solving challenging programming and design problems; and maintain high standards for usability, accessibility, and performance.
  • Contribute to the engineering culture by sharing knowledge through collaboration, mentorship, and presentations (for example, lightning talks or knowledge-sharing sessions); taking ownership of features and code quality; and continuously improving engineering practices and processes.
  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others on front-end development best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
  • Model compliance with company policies and procedures and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

What you'll bring:

  • Strong Front-End Development Expertise: Hands-on experience building responsive, single-page web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, with a solid understanding of component-based architecture and modern front-end development practices.
  • Proficiency in Modern Web Technologies: Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and state management solutions such as Redux or React Query, along with familiarity integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs or GraphQL services.
  • Problem-Solving and Code Quality Mindset: Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, refactor existing code, and continuously improve performance, maintainability, and scalability of front-end applications.
  • Collaborative and Product-Focused Approach: Proven ability to work closely with product managers, designers, and UX teams to translate requirements into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and deliver high-quality customer experiences.
