Description
Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
The Amazon Leo Hardware Supply Chain team is seeking a Principal Sourcing TPM to drive technical manufacturing and supply chain operations for hardware assemblies destined for our satellites. The successful candidate will manage contract manufacturers' end-to-end production processes while maintaining focus on quality and delivery requirements.
Key job responsibilities
• Will support management of contract manufacturers end-to-end production process for assigned hardware assemblies
• Ensure on-time delivery to meet Amazon Leo's production rate requirements
• Drive production planning and execution aligned with cross-functional priorities
• Measure, Control and Improve capacity, quality, manufacturing rate/processes, and delivery KPIs at contract manufacturers
• Lead technical deep dives to resolve manufacturing blockers and constraints
• Balance development and engineering needs to minimize production impacts
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate supply chain risks
• Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics and reporting systems
• Report status to senior leadership in a clear and succinct manner
• Develop and implement best practices within the team while ingesting and replicating best practices from other teams
• Guide, coach, and develop other members of the supply chain management team
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% as required
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company
- Deep technical understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and quality requirements for space-grade hardware
- Experience driving continuous improvement activities, and performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Correction of Errors (COE).
- Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to drive decisions, evaluate trade-offs and provide path-to-green options.
- Experience driving supplier development programs and manufacturing technology transfers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
- Direct experience managing high-complexity contract manufacturers, preferably in aerospace or defense industries
- Demonstrated success in implementing advanced manufacturing processes and quality systems in regulated industries
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification with demonstrated application in manufacturing optimization
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE)
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
