The Opportunity
This position is based in Alameda, CA within the Lingo Division. In this role, you will contribute to developing next‑generation technology that empowers individuals to make informed decisions about improving energy levels, losing weight, or enhancing athletic performance.
What You’ll Work On
- Design and architect scalable features for the Direct‑to‑Consumer (DTC) e‑commerce platform built on Next.js and Azure
- Own critical systems including:
- Payment processing
- CMS integration
- Authentication
- Commerce workflows
- Lead technical initiatives from design through deployment, ensuring performance, security, and reliability
- Build and optimize a TypeScript monorepo using Turborepo, balancing shared code with app independence
- Drive integration strategy for third‑party services:
- CommerceTools
- Contentful
- Auth0
- Braze
- Payment gateways
- Establish engineering standards and best practices for testing, monitoring, and deployment
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Optimize performance, including:
- Core Web Vitals
- Bundle size
- Serverless function efficiency
- Contribute to architectural decisions that affect scalability and maintainability
- Champion accessibility, internationalization, and compliance (GDPR, PCI‑DSS)
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience
- Expert-level TypeScript proficiency including advanced types, generics, and type‑safety patterns
- Extensive experience building production apps with React and Next.js (App Router, Server Components, API routes)
- Proven experience building and scaling e‑commerce platforms, especially DTC
- Strong understanding of payment systems, fraud prevention, and PCI compliance
- Experience architecting and maintaining serverless applications (Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of web architecture, performance optimization, and scalable infrastructure
- Experience with headless CMS platforms and content modeling
- Proficiency in modern testing: unit, integration, and E2E
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical decisions
- Experience mentoring engineers and elevating team capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Azure ecosystem (Functions, Service Bus, Blob Storage, Application Insights) or equivalent AWS services
- Hands‑on experience with CommerceTools or similar commerce platforms
- Deep Next.js knowledge including streaming, caching, and edge runtime optimization
- Experience with Turborepo and monorepo architectures
- Understanding of authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT) and identity providers like Auth0
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Sentry or New Relic
- Knowledge of CDN strategies, edge computing, and global content delivery
- Experience with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines
- Contributions to open source or demonstrated technical thought leadership
