The Operations Improvement team partners across Fab operations, IT, Automation, Scheduling, and Applications to deliver scalable, data‑driven solutions that advance manufacturing excellence.
As an Operations Improvement Engineer, this role focuses on enhancing manufacturing performance through automation, data analytics, and decision‑support frameworks. The position drives improvements that streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and enable world‑class operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Build and coordinate automation projects that reduce manual effort, shorten cycle time, enable faster root‑cause analysis, and improve decision quality.
- Deliver early automation wins using rule‑based workflows and dashboards, progressing toward adaptive AI/LLM‑driven solutions.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to optimize Fab processes and eliminate waste.
- Define and deliver decision‑support and workflow‑automation frameworks that integrate AI/ML, analytics, and human expertise.
- Partner with Fab operations, IT, and cross‑functional Operations Improvement teams to deliver scalable automation solutions and production‑metric reporting.
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and promptly report any safety‑related concerns.
Minimum Qualifications
- MS in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science; or BS with 2+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of programming languages such as C#, Perl, Python, and VBA (Python preferred).
- Understanding of relational and NoSQL database methods, including SQL, Snowflake, and MongoDB.
- Proven ability to plan, drive, and complete projects effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex analysis succinctly.
- Proficiency in statistics, data analysis, and problem‑solving.
- Understanding of manufacturing science topics such as scheduling, inventory management, and capacity planning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading decision‑support, workflow‑automation, or data‑engineering initiatives in complex environments.
- End‑to‑end software development knowledge.
- Experience building and deploying end‑to‑end ML systems, or strong interest in developing production‑grade ML automation.
- Advanced data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills.
- Hands‑on experience designing, querying, and optimizing relational and NoSQL databases in production environments.
