This is a greenfield opportunity to build the operational backbone of our Service Registry and CMDB from the ground up. You will architect the CMDB, design integrations, lead the migration from legacy systems, and establish ServiceNow as one of our mission-critical platforms. Why This Role Matters: As a regulated financial services firm, utilizing ServiceNow will centralize incident response, change management, asset inventory and much more. Your architecture directly impacts our ability to deliver enterprise solutions and demonstrate operational resilience. Duties/Responsibilities Migration Leadership Lead large-scale migration from legacy ITSM/asset management systems to ServiceNow Design phased migration strategy: data migration, system cutover, integration planning, risk mitigation Coordinate across teams, vendors, and stakeholders; ensure zero downtime for critical operations Own CMDB data migration: assessment, cleansing, validation, reconciliation IT Operations Management Architecture & Design Design Configuration Management Database (CMDB) data model (CI classes, relationships, service taxonomy) for financial services context Architect Discovery & Service Mapping strategy (on-prem, cloud, containers, SaaS) Design Event Management integration with monitoring tools (Datadog) Establish Cloud Management integration (GCP) and FinOps capabilities Define multi-year ITOM roadmap: CMDB → Discovery → Service Mapping → Event Mgmt → Cloud Mgmt Enterprise Integration & Platform Architecture Design integration architecture for 50+ systems: monitoring, cloud, ITSM, identity, ticketing Define multi-instance strategy (prod, pre-prod, sandbox, dev) and CI/CD for ServiceNow Architect platform security: SSO/SAML, RBAC, encryption, audit logging, MFA Ensure scalability (1,000+ users) and performance (SLOs, optimization) Establish development standards, customization governance, upgrade strategy Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management Support the leadership team with building, coaching and developing a world-class ServiceNow team Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, Enterprise Architecture, Engineering and Product Present to executives, board, and regulators; translate technical concepts to business language Provide vendor/partner oversight; ensure knowledge transfer to internal team Compliance & Continuous Improvement Ensure compliance (e.g., SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, FINRA, SEC, GLBA) Support regulatory examinations with technical documentation and platform demonstrations Drive CMDB accuracy to 95%+; optimize performance; manage technical debt Evaluate emerging capabilities (AI/ML, AIOps, Predictive Intelligence) Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in a technical field (or equivalent work experience) required 10+ years IT operations/infrastructure; 5+ years hands-on ServiceNow experience 5+ years leading technical teams; proven mentorship and team development 5+ years in financial services technology (banking, broker-dealer, fintech, payments) experience preferred Required Certifications: Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Implementation Specialist - IT Service Management; one additional CIS domain preferred (Discovery/Service Mapping); Certified Technical Architect (CTA) highly preferred (or commitment to achieve within 18 months) Led 2+ ServiceNow migrations from legacy systems (greenfield/brownfield, 1,000+ users) Deep ITOM expertise: CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Cloud Management Expert in ServiceNow architecture, scripting (JavaScript), Integration Hub, MID Servers Required Skills/Abilities Technical Skills CMDB data modeling, CI reconciliation, service mapping, discovery automation Integration expertise: REST APIs, middleware (MuleSoft, Boomi), CI/CD Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP (hands-on experience) Infrastructure: servers, storage, networking, virtualization, containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and IaC (Terraform) Monitoring tools integration: Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, Prometheus Financial Services & Regulatory Understanding of FINRA, SEC, OCC, FDIC, GLBA, SOX requirements Experience supporting regulatory examinations and audit readiness Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2 frameworks Leadership & Communication Executive presence: present to C-suite, board, regulators Influence across organizational silos; manage competing priorities Led implementations $1M+ budget, 12-24 months Other Preferred Qualifications CTA certification, additional CIS certs (ITSM, ITAM, SecOps), cloud certs (AWS/Azure Pro), TOGAF, CISSP, ITIL 4, chaos engineering experience, DevOps/SRE background, ServiceNow community contributions Work Environment This job operates in a hybrid, office environment 3 days per week. #IT #mid-senior #full-time #LI-SD1 #APEX Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this job.
