Job Description Summary The Advanced Lead Engineer in Material Coatings will work in a highly skilled cross-functional team engaged in the advancement of aircraft coating systems. In this role, you will guide a multi-disciplinary team to achieve a set of development objectives via materials development programs and partnering with manufacturing on corresponding efforts with a focus on Thermal Barrier Coatings. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Lead development projects for the improvement and usage of materials, coatings, and processes undertaken to build, apply, or shape the materials Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions Create and manage project timelines Create and execute test plans Understand and apply technical requirements from specifications and engineering drawings that impact materials and processes and provide guidance to multidisciplinary teams Evaluate, compare and obtain property data to guide material selection Perform metallurgical and compositional evaluations Make recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools Document and communicate development results through technical reports and presentations Identify Materials and Process technology gaps and propose solutions for component durability or future designs Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry with a minimum of a minimum of 4 years of experience in Engineering and/or Science or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering and/or Science 5 years’ experience leading material coating development programs through the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) process Desired Characteristics Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering Strong oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs Established project management skills GE Aerospace offers comprehensive benefits and programs to support your health and, along with programs like HealthAhead, your physical, emotional, financial and social wellbeing.
