Senior Real Time Software Engineer Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Real Time Software Engineer to join the F/A-18 Mission Systems organization located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. Our Air Dominance software engineers design, develop, and demonstrate avionics solutions for the platforms we build and upgrade. Your efforts will assist in integration of innovative technologies to maintain our platform’s dominance over the battlefield for many decades to come. Responsibilities
Leads the design, development, tests, and maintenance of embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products. Develops, maintains, enhances and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products Debugs and leads resolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products. Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysis Leads handling of user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues and user feedback analysis. Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development Develops, establishes, monitors and improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks Plans, executes and documents, software research and development projects Advises on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations Performs software project management activities and software supplier management functions Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards Security Clearance and Export Control
Requirements
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start). Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): 4+ years’ experience with hands on experience writing C++ software for integration with real-time embedded systems 4+ years’ experience with Vehicle Health Management experience 4+ years’ experience of training, mentoring, advising junior software engineers across entire lifecycle of software development 4+ years’ experience working on a project where various software development methodologies are being utilized Demonstrated expertise leading complex projects across multiple teams of engineers. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science Familiarity with implementation and requirements of Vehicle Health Management areas such as Built in Test, Power Control, Maintenance Codes, Erase, Loading Software development experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and automated DevOps processes/tools Experience using team collaboration tools including Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
